For the love of startups and great ideas

The Tech Adventure Club concept is a strong one, but sometimes it takes others discovering a thing for it to achieve its potential.

After initially joining the fray for the NWA Startup Cup in June, the TAC idea was chosen to the Top 20 field and has now ambled into the semi-finals with eleven other contenders.  Here’s the Top 12 announcement.

Regardless of the outcome for TAC, the NWA Startup Cup is an idea worth sharing.  Northwest Arkansas and communities across the state and nation need these incubators for the next great idea.  In fact, that’s the whole premise behind Tech Adventure Club itself – to help kids learn to create rather than simply consume technology, and to develop the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs.

The reception we received was fantastic – the NWA Startup Cup judges genuinely wanted to see good ideas thrive, and desire to equip fledgling entrepreneurs with the tools they’ll need to take their endeavors to the next level.  There was even an extra degree of enthusiasm for women entrepreneurs, and we can certainly get on board with that.  We’re still fired up about the League of Extraordinary Women article (wow – it’s a must-read) in Fast Company and the news of Yahoo snagging Marissa Mayer and her aptitude for cultivating talented young engineers.  You’ll have to forgive us – we sometimes struggle to contain our enthusiasm.

With all that said – wish us well, but do one better – invest in some young talent in your own backyard and pay it all forward.  Hey, here’s a place you can start:

Support Women. Strengthen Arkansas.
